Irregular Apocalypse

NaPoWriMo Day#4 Write a poem with an Iain M. Banks spaceship title

It was a sunny day

It didn’t rain like it was supposed to

On such turbulent days,

Nor was there music

Playing in the background,

No bittersweet symphony accompanied

The aftermath of what you said;

There was no fierce wind, no tears,

No looking into each other’s eyes

For one last, enduring, fleeting moment

As is usual in books or movies.

Yes, it was an irregular apocalypse.

Still, it was one after all.

And the pain I felt after it happened

Was as real as what I would have felt

Had it been raining that day.
