The night called out to me,

Singing about its quite wonders,

When everyone else is asleep,

Inviting me to be a part

Of its profound understanding of the world

When it is cloaked in innocent sleep.

But I preferred to remain

In the tube-lit dreariness of my room,

And confine myself to things I knew,

Never ready to face the seductive unknown.
